Artwork Guidelines

FILE FORMAT:
We accept the following file formats TIF, TIFF, JPG, EPS, PNG, AI, PSD, and PDF.
If you are designing using Publisher, please send your press-ready file to graphics@maxxposure.com for pre-approval before submitting your job for print.  We reserve the right to deny any files designed in Publisher if they do not meet our artwork guidelines.

RESOLUTION:
All file formats must have a minimum of 300 dpi (dot per inch) resolution.
The images designed for the web are done at a low screen resolution of 72 dpi. Print images need to be created at 300 dpi or there will be a substantial drop in the image quality.

COLOR MODE:
All color artwork and/or images must be provided in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color mode.
All black & white artworks and/or images must be provided in grayscale color mode.
Heavy black ink coverage may cause smearing.

BLEED:
Please build your press-ready digital files by adding .125" (1/8") bleed margin on all sides of your design files.
We require ALL files to be built to the full bleed dimension specified for each product size.
We automatically trim 0.125" off each edge, which will result in the desired trim size.
Simply 0.125" to the overall dimension of your digital layout. Example: a 5" x 7" would have a bleed size of 5.25" x 7.25" and a 8.5"x11" flyer would have a bleed size of 8.75"x11.25".

What's a bleed?
It is the portion of the card that will be trimmed off when cut to the final size.

Why bleed?
The purpose of a bleed is to continue a color, image or design to the edge of the card so no white edges are present.

CROP MARKS:
Please build your design utilizing our downloadable templates to insure you have the proper size and trim area.  Crop marks are not necessary to show on your press-ready design files.

FONTS:
a. Fonts must be embedded in PDF files.
b. Fonts must be outlined or converted to paths or curves in EPS files.
c. Some fonts have copyright restrictions and will not embed in PDF Files.
d. Quark Express / InDesign: Fonts and images must be included with all files submitted.

SAFE ZONE:
All critical elements (text, images, logos, etc.) must be kept at least 0.25" inside the edge. Anything left close to edge may be cut off during trimming.  Reference our downloadable templates for the exact safe zone for each product.

BORDERS:
Decorative borders are recommended, as shifting in the cutting process may make borders appear uneven.
